Overview

Tour It is a 360 degree environment where students create and/or gather media assets (images, video, etc.) to create an immersive experience. Students will practice their creativity, cultural awareness, and technical proficiency through digital storytelling that conveys a sense of place about a location that is connected to course content.

How to use this in your classroom

For detailed step-by-step instructions, access the Tour It instructor guide.

Quick summary of steps:

  1. Instructors make a Tour It assignment in their LMS such as Canvas.
  2. Instructors create the initial tour that can be blank or populated with foundational content.
  3. Students each receive their own copy of the tour that they can populate and edit based on the assignment’s goals. Students will…
    a. Gather assets to reflect a place
    b. Combine assets to build a story
    c. Upload and refine the assets in Tour It
  4. Students submit a published link for instructors to see their final creation! This link can be shared with the whole class!
